  • 2 green chilies (slit lengthwise)

  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder (daniya powder)
  • ½ tsp cumin powder (jeera powder)
  • 1 tsp garam masala or mixed masalas
  • 1 tsp whole spices (cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, and cardamom)

Step-by-Step Cooking Process

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather all the ingredients and keep the cooked rice ready.
  2. Heat Oil & Ghee: In a pan, heat oil and ghee on medium flame.
  3. Add Whole Spices: Add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, and cardamom, letting them sizzle.
  4. Add Curry Leaves & Green Chilies: Toss in fresh curry leaves and slit green chilies.
  5. Sauté Tomatoes: Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft and mushy.
  6. Add Spice Powders: Mix in turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, jeera powder, and salt.
  7. Cook the Masala: Let the mixture cook until the oil separates.
  8. Mix with Rice: Add the cooked rice and gently mix it with the tomato masala.
